Bloggers Choice Award

It’s the time of the year again. What time? Time for bloggers around the world to nominate and vote for their favourite blogs. All together there are a total of more than 10 categories in contest. One that caught my eye is the Freakiest Blog category. What does the blog has to write in order to be categorized in to this category? Let us check it out.
Top of the list of Freakiest Blogs is Dead-Silence.org which has 176 votes. After running through her entries, this blogger from Maryland is fascinated by serial killers! Many of her entries are about serial killers. She even has an entry that teaches readers how to get their own Serial Killers Gears. That’s freaky!
Browsing through the list I found two Malaysia blogs, Ah Pek and Rojaks, following closely behind at 5th and 6th place with 52 and 46 votes respectively. As far as I know their blogs are mostly about humour with the way the write their entries. I wonder if humour = freaky or freaky = humour. Anyway, it doesn’t matter.
Crisp Analysis:
In my opinion, this Blogger Choice Award doesn’t really mean anything. It’s all about popularity. You’ll win when you have lots of loyal readers.
On the other hand, there’s no fair enough rules put in place to categorize the blogs into correct a category. Any blog can be nominated into any categories. This just isn’t right. The most obvious example is in the Best Blog Design category. Many blogs which their theme was created by others and nominate themselves in this category. Shouldn’t this category for the blogs which the author created their own theme?
Actually I’m not really interested to be nominated there in the future. How about you?

Sounds like the Oscars — doesn’t really mean much in the way of quality, however an award or nomination could certainly boost your career.
