Google sent me activation code

After 4 months plus of starting crispnetworks.com and using Google Adsense, finally I’m eligible to get payment from my earnings from Adsense. Just received the activation code from Google. I’m excited although my earnings are not something big enough to brag about. Well, any earnings is good income! I’m sure that applies to anyone who are trying to make money online.

Here’s the letter I’ve gotten from Google:

Google Adsense - Weekly Updates 27 May 2007

Google Adsense’s click-to-play video ads has been launched one year. As to mark the 1 year anniversary, Google has introduced three new click-to-play video ads format namely the 728×90 Leaderboard, the 120×600 Skyscraper, and the 160×600 Wide Skyscraper. Previously, video ads were only enabled for the 300×250 Medium Rectangle, the 336×280 Large Rectangle, the 200×200 Small Square, and the 250×250 Square.

As it was previously, users will see a play button on these three ad formats when a video ad is available - this play button will appear on the right side of the Leaderboard and in the upper half of the Skyscraper formats. Once a user clicks the play button, the video ad will begin to play within the ad unit.

Google has not change the way of generating earnings with videos ads in these new formats. It will remain the same. When an advertiser has chosen to display the click-to-play video ad as a cost-per-thousand impression (CPM) ad, every valid impression of the static image will be paid to publisher, regardless of plays or clicks to the advertiser’s site. If the click-to-play video ad is a cost-per-click (CPC) ad, publisher will generate earnings from valid clicks to the advertiser’s site rather than clicks on the play button. In either case, publisher’s site visitors are free to watch the video. Please keep in mind that publisher need to be opted into image ads in order to receive video ads, but Google isn’t able to guarantee that video ads will always be available.

Google Updates - Old Adsense Account Upgrade

Google is going to do a migration of old Adsense account. Old account holders will be asked to upgrade their account to a Google Account. The migration test is ongoing at the moment before it’s done full blown. The next time you login to your Adsense account, you might be greeting with the following screen, asking you to upgrade you your login to a “Google Account”.

This is very much like the Blogger Account upgrade last time. Nevertheless, please take note that this migration is only applicable to older Adsense account, so you might not see the screen.

Google Updates - Adsense Homepage Make Over

Since the face lift of Google Adsense ads, Google is slowly rolling out a new homepage for Google Adsense website. Over the next few days, the new design will be rolled out. The new design spots a cleaner and more informative layout. In the new design, you can find more information about Adsense as you learning to use Adsense as an addition revenue of income. This new layout is definitely more appealing to me. I believe it’s the same to many other publisher out there.

Here’s a screenshot of the new design:

However, the new design does not affect the performance of the ads and the internal account pages.
