Yesterday, I did a major movement on my blog by moving to the root of crispnetworks.com instead of crispnetworks.com/blog/.

Therefore, I went to all the social bookmarking sites to update my blog information. As for Technorati, I need to claim my blog again with the new URL. Something weird happen to Technorati’s authority ranking.

Are you looking to build up your ranking in Technorati by increasing your Link-to or Authority? Now, here’s a good chance for you to do. We are creating a “Technorati Train” in order to achieve that. Come and join us.

I found a weird thing on my Technorati profile. While I was looking for a Technorati badget to be put on here, I saw a weird thing. Under my photo, it says that I’m a member since Dec 31 1969! Did I see it wrongly? Certain I didn’t because I’ve taken a screenshot to prove it.

Did you see that in your Technorati profile?

Do you notice something different with Technorati? Regular users of Technorati would definitely notice the changes with the ranking system and some of its pages design.

Technorati have changes its ranking system to “Authority” rank which now determines a blog’s position within its Most Linked-to ranking system. Previously it was the number of blogs links.

Several user page’s design has been changed too, for instance, individual blog and user profile page. A dedicated search engine which allows user to search within a blog was inserted as well as a consolidation of WTF blurbs and users favorites within one blog page.

Lets us now look at the changes made visually:

New Authority Ranking

The actually number of links linking to a blog was replace by the word Authority. Now, the “Authority” will be used to measure the position of a blog on Technorati’s Top 100 Most Linked-To list.
