Do you know that there’s hidden formatting functions in your WYSIWYG editor in Wordpress? It is actually built-in in Wordpress 2. Normally your Wordpress visual editor would look like this:

However, it can look like that:

What are the hidden formatting functions? Here’s the list:
* Format
* Underline
* Font Colour
* Paste as plain text
* Paste from Word
* Remove Formating
* Cleanup Messy code
* Insert Custom Character
* Undo
* Redo

All you need to do is to press Alt key + Shift key + V on your keyboard when you are using your Wordpress Visual editor. Make sure your visual editor is enable.

Wordpress team has just announced Wordpress 2.2 “Getz” released about 5 hours ago at the time of writing. The name Getz was given to the version 2.2 to honour tenor saxophonist Stan Getz. The development team has done a good job for deliver the updates with more than 200 bug fixed and some new features in well under 4 month (which is their standard goal of a major release).

Here’s some great new features lined up in this release:

* A new set of WordPress-specific XML-RPC APIs that allow for editing pages, setting categories, and much more.
* We now use jQuery for a number of internal functions, and hope to transition all of our JS to use it. (Wordpress team still need volunteers for this.)
* Comment feeds now support multiple formats, including Atom.
* Internal mail functions now use phpMailer, which allows for things like SMTP support.
* Able to set database collation and character set in your config file.
* Able to to hardcode your site and WP URL in the config file, overriding the values in the DB.
* Increased the inline documentation of a number of functions inside of WP, which should help you navigate those parts of the code.

I’ve been blogging using Blogspot since 2005. Still using it for my personal blog. Last year around September my friend, Eeleen, introduce me to use wordpress blog by subscribing to wordpress.com. Since then I like wordpress platform blog much more than Google’s Blogspot.

As I’m setting this blog using my own domain, I was searching for the right theme to use and stumble upon this Wordpress Theme Generator. It was a very cool option and useful for people who knows nuts about HTML, CSS and PHP programming. It’s helpful for those who are lazy to create my own.
