Pagerank revised down in less than a month

I’m feeling the pains of the probloggers who previously rely much on the PR of their websites or blogs to generate high income. My blog’s pagerank was revised from promoted from PR0 >> PR3 and then demoted to PR2. Ouch..that really painful.

As a result, I loosing some opportunity to earn more money at PR3 than PR2. Well, many has blog about it. The recently PR update has been a shock to many of the bloggers. Google seems to have a new algorithm to penalized blogs or sites which sells links or write sponsored posts.

Anyway, like many of the problogger said, do be disheartened and just continue to churn out good content that keep your readers coming back. That’s the most important thing that bloggers should focus on. Other income opportunities will arise when the traffic is there. I totally agree with that.

Lets us move on.

How much has the recent PR update hurt your income? Share it with me by commenting.

Got to be happy that you have some ranking.

We were hoping for a rank , but still no green line on the rank bar yet for us. Were we demoted to -1 from 0 ;)

Do you mean to say that PR update happened again after Oct 27?

It didn’t affect me one bit, not only because I didn’t get a PR penalty, but even if I did, I have zero sources of revenue which depends on my blogs (or web sites) to have certain PR levels.

Personally, I think it’s a very bad idea to go for revenue streams that depend on a third party’s statistics of your web sites (not only PageRank, but also Alexa, Technorati, etc).

I think too many people spend too much time being worried about that little green bar… and it’s not healthy. Web masters everywhere should spend that time on improving their web sites. Because that is the area where you have 100% control over.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my HTNet. I’ll drop by here more often :)

In fact, one of my blog, which I had extensively using for sponsored posts got a PR4 from PR0, and after about 15 days, it again was slapped a PR0.
But I have no complaints.
If we are the masters of our blogs and can do anything on them, Google is the master of their search index and it should be allowed to do accordingly.

Hi Dicky,
Wait for sometime and concentrate on adding contents and linkbuilding.
GPR will come later. Last GPR update happened on October 27, 2007 and before that it happened on 23rd Apr. 2007.

I have a lot of blogs, and this morning, the final straw happened.

Google took away all my page rank across all blogs.

Now i’m back at 0….

it was a fun ride though, I’ll have to go back to working over time and two jobs to get that extra income to pay the bills.

Sadly…it’s not as fun anymore.
