Live Earth 7th July 2007Today I’m going to do something different. Something I’ve never done on my blog. Something to create awareness among you. Something meaningful to show my support for LIVE EARTH. I’ve tweak my theme to green!

What’s Live Earth?

Live Earth is a 24 hour, 7-continent concert series taking place on 7thJuly07 (07/07/07) that will bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.

Live Earth marks the beginning of a multi-year campaign led by the Alliance for Climate Protection, The Climate Group and other international organizations to drive individuals, corporations and governments to take action to solve global warming. Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore is the Chair of the Alliance and Partner of Live Earth.

The 24 hour concert span across 8 cities - New York, London, Johannesburg, Rio De Janeiro, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney and Hamburg.

Why Live Earth?

Live Earth is an initiative of the SOS campaign to leverage on powerful multimedia platform that can reach to every corner of the earth - films, television, radio, Internet, books, wireless and others - to create awareness and move human being to stand together as one to fight against the climate crisis. Thus, saving our home from pollution so that our children will have a better place to live in.

Free Live Concerts!

Live Earth concerts will be broadcast to a live worldwide audience by MSN at www.LiveEarth.MSN.com. Besides, the concerts will be broadcast on television all over the world. The broadcasting on tv in Singapore will be on Channel 5 and Channel U. Do check out your local listing in your home country for the concert details. The concerts will be on the radio too.

i hope the save e earth goes beyond 7.7.07 … and not just a one day movement

Yeah. I hope so. But this one day event extravaganza is to create awareness for their long term project of educating the ppl to battle climate crisis.
It’s scary reading and knowing from news everyday that the climate is going havoc. There are places that snow in the summer! That’s bad…

It’s kind of ironic that the concerts around the world are drawing huge amount of energy which requires the burning of fuels at the power stations. :grin:
