The Best Icon Search Engine

Here’s a very nice search engine which is 100% dedicated to icons only. I stumbled upon this icon search engine, iconfinder, when I was “stumbling” websites using StumbleUpon. I decided to share it with you guys here.

What is iconfinder ?

iconfinder - The best icon search engine

Iconfinder is a search engine dedicated to search download able icons uploaded by icon designers.

All the icons are in PNG-format. The benefit of PNG-images is the alpha-channel, meaning that pixels can be transparent. Do not copy-paste icons into eg. Photoshop, since icons will loose their alpha-channel information. Instead, use the download-link to save icons locally.

Designers can submit their icons by sending an email to martin.leblanc@gmail.com via attachment in compressed format. Icons sent should be strictly PNG format in these sizes (pixel) - 12 x 12, 16 x 16, 22 x 22, 32 x 32, 48 x 48, 64 x 64 or 128 x 128.

I also featured IconFinder on http://www.AltSearchEngines.com where we spotlight alternative search engines all day, every day. Dozens and dozens - actually hundreds - of them.

Please stop by!
